Martha Nussbaum says that “Whenever I am alone, I sit with books." She says that "If someone behaves badly with me I go home and sit with books”. The deepest parts of me agree. There is a welcomeing ease that can only come from the texture of paper, from the fibrous call of a confidant who lifts your burden with the turn of every page. When I'm tired, lost, anxious, and overwhelmed, I walk through library stacks. I run my fingers across the sureness of crinkled spines on my own bookshelves. I sit in the corner of my favorite used bookstore, and then I start to breathe.
2,000? Those are rookie numbers in this racket... 😉
I'm coming for you, one 25 cent paperback at a time...
Yep. No need to explain why building a library is beneficial.
I guess I tried anyway haha. But yes, we are book people.
I thought I had posted a similar attempt, but I guess I just thought it up in my head. Ha, I'll have to post something.
Many such cases! I'll keep an eye out. Thanks for reading my essay (in the old sense of attempt, Montaigne jokes etc.)
Solid.
Thanks, Mark!

Relatable
Glad to be in good company! 🤜🤛
Yeah, the older I get the more it seems that everything is unfinishable.
